Como Hospital

The land area included within the compound of the new hospital is approximately 22 hectares. The gross floor area occupied by the floors of the new hospital is 76,220 square meters: there are 589 ordinary ward beds, in addition to 62 technical intensive care beds and 18 operating rooms. From a structural point of view, particular interest lies in the floor structures, all built using the technique of prestressing with non-adherent cables, within complex static schemes. The various geometric configurations of the floors have indeed required detailed study of the boundary constraints and the instantaneous and deferred actions induced in the structural system.
